A Saturday Morning

This morning we strolled the Farmer's Market, not buying anything. In no rush. Silas learned to walk seven days ago. To celebrate, we released him from his stroller like a little bird on its first flight. He touched everything, laughed at the dried leaves, and seemed oblivious to the frigid wind. Every step is firm and hopeful, though he tumbles often. He appears distracted but every action is purposeful and curious. There's no direct path, only the purpose of not leaving one single experience/object/sensation unturned along the way. He's unfazed by veering cyclists or rogue dog walkers. Everything falls behind his one natural focus: curiosity.

Have a wonderful weekend, friends. Lots of love, especially to those having a tough one.

If you missed my posts on Design Mom this week, here they are:

Kindling Quarterly—a new independent magazine about modern fatherhood

Gold Fireflies in Japan—a forest full of tiny twinkle lights.

Van Heesch Copper Bike—$6,000 for an all copper bike. It comes with a velvet pouch!

Tiny Treasure: Otter wax—as an inexpensive waterproofing tool.

Public Display of Affection—the first kiss caught on film. And the most amazing comments on the best movie kisses.
